Murcott

(Mandarin Orange)

Harvest time: Mid-January to end of January

This variety is extremely difficult to grow and only cultivated in facilities in mainland Japan.

It has a number of issues, including disease and fruit cracking, but it also has the ability to increase its sugar content from 14 to 18 percent, making it a desirable variety that can be transformed into the best of the best depending on the grower.

It is the queen of oranges with a rich taste and elegant aroma.

Naturally it sinks when placed in water due to its high sugar content.
